Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2025  |  Effective Date: March 2025

Welcome to PlaceGrad. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PlaceGrad platform ("Platform") operated by PlaceGrad, a One Person Company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office in Kochi, Kerala, India ("Company", "we", "us").

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an educational institution ("College"), you represent that you have the authority to bind that institution to these Terms.

1. Description of the Platform

PlaceGrad is a cloud-based campus placement management platform that provides end-to-end placement services including:

  • Student onboarding, profile management, and verification workflow
  • Placement drive and job posting management with application tracking
  • AI-powered resume scoring and lexical job matching (where enabled)
  • Recruiter portal with token-based access (no login required for recruiters)
  • Online assessment and test delivery (Test Module available as a separately priced add-on)
  • Placement Officer dashboard with analytics, reports, and NAAC/NIRF/AICTE compliance exports
  • Certification management and AI-driven upskilling recommendations

2. User Roles and Eligibility

The Platform supports the following user types:

  • Super Admin: PlaceGrad administrators managing all colleges and platform-level settings
  • Placement Officer: Authorised representative of a College managing students, drives, and reporting
  • Student: An individual enrolled at a registered College who has registered on the Platform and been approved by the Placement Officer
  • Recruiter: A company or individual granted token-based access by a College to view candidates for a specific drive (no account required)

To use the Platform, students must be aged 18 or above and enrolled in a participating College. Access is granted only after approval by the designated Placement Officer.

3. Account Registration and Security

Students register by providing their name, email address, and a password. Passwords must meet strength requirements and are checked against known breach databases (HaveIBeenPwned) at registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Not share your login credentials with any other person
  • Notify us immediately at support@placegrad.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
  • Not attempt to access accounts belonging to other users

Repeated failed login attempts will trigger automatic account lockout as a security measure. Sessions expire after 8 hours and are invalidated immediately upon a password change.

4. Student Verification Flow

Upon registration, a student's account is placed in a PENDING state. The account becomes ACTIVE only after the College's designated Placement Officer reviews and approves the student. Students in PENDING status cannot apply to recruitment drives.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information (e.g., fabricated CGPA, fake certifications, or doctored offer letters)
  • Impersonate another student, placement officer, or recruiter
  • Attempt to bypass proctoring mechanisms during online assessments (tab-switching is logged)
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or reproduce any part of the Platform or its data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or servers
  • Use the Platform for any purpose other than campus placement and career management activities
  • Share or distribute recruiter access links except as part of authorised recruitment activity

6. One Offer Policy

Once a student is marked as PLACED on the Platform (i.e., they have accepted a placement offer), they are no longer eligible to apply to new recruitment drives, with one exception: they may continue to apply to drives designated as Dream Companies by the Placement Officer. This policy is enforced at the platform level.

7. AI Resume Scoring

Where AI resume analysis is enabled by the College, students may submit their resume for AI-powered scoring and feedback. This feature is limited to 5 scans per student per calendar month. AI scores and feedback are generated automatically and are indicative in nature — they do not constitute a guarantee of employment or placement. PlaceGrad shall not be liable for decisions made by recruiters or colleges on the basis of AI scores.

8. Intellectual Property

The PlaceGrad platform, including its algorithms, interfaces, design, branding, and underlying technology, is the exclusive intellectual property of the Company. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership interest in the Platform.

Content you upload to the Platform (such as your resume, certifications, and profile information) remains your property. By uploading content, you grant PlaceGrad a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely for the purposes of providing the Platform services.

Any feedback or suggestions you provide regarding the Platform may be used by PlaceGrad without restriction or compensation.

9. Availability and Uptime

PlaceGrad maintains a best-effort target of 99% platform uptime, excluding scheduled maintenance windows. We will endeavour to notify users in advance of any planned downtime. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Platform and shall not be liable for any losses arising from temporary unavailability.

10. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. PlaceGrad makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding:

  • The accuracy or completeness of any AI-generated resume scores or skill recommendations
  • The outcome of any job application submitted through the Platform
  • The suitability of any recruiter, drive, or company for any student
  • The conduct of recruiters who access the Platform through College-shared token links

PlaceGrad is a technology platform. We do not act as a placement agency, employment intermediary, or recruiter and make no guarantee of placement outcomes.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PlaceGrad shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform. Our total aggregate liability to any user shall not exceed the fees paid by the College for the subscription period in which the claim arose.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably within 15 days of written notice. If unresolved, disputes shall be referred to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The courts of Kochi, Kerala shall have exclusive jurisdiction over matters not subject to arbitration.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-platform notice with at least 15 days' advance notice. Continued use of the Platform after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

14. Termination of Access

PlaceGrad may suspend or terminate access to the Platform if a user or College violates these Terms, fails to make payment, or engages in conduct detrimental to the platform or other users. The College may also terminate its service agreement as per the terms of the governing Memorandum of Understanding.
